The 2567th Anniversary of Confucius`s Birth and the Unveiling Ceremony of Confucius Statue Held in Our School

On the morning of September 28th, the 2567th anniversary of Confucius`s birth and the unveiling ceremony of Confucius statue was held in our school. Over 100 people attended the ceremony, including Hu Jike, Chairman of Gansu No.1 Construction Engineering Group Co.,Ltd., and its Party Committee Secretary, Wang Yunru, and General Manager, Li Mingxin, Chen Shunxian, Chairman of Gansu yinyutong Industrial Group Co.,Ltd., Zhang Yubin, the General Manager of Lanzhou Tianqi Logistics Group Co., Ltd., Jia Jinyuan, the President of The High School Attached to Northwest Normal University, and its Party Committee Secretary and vice President, Wang Wenkui and another two vice Presidents, Gou Xiaofeng and Jing Xiaomin, as well as directors of all departments and all grades and student representatives.
Our President, Jia Jinyuan and Hu Jike, Chairman of Gansu No.1 Construction Engineering Group Co.,Ltd. unveiled Confucius Statue and the concerned leaders and guests showed their respects.
Jia Jinyuan and Hu Jike respectively delivered their speeches. President, Jia Jinyuan referred that admiring Confucius and placing much emphasis on Confucianism was beneficial for us to take the heritage of traditional Chinese culture and carry it forward, which should not only be one person`s wish, but the aspirations of all our people. It is the responsibility of our generation and every educators. He sincerely wished that every teacher in our school can practice the notion of “to be tireless in teaching” and spare no efforts in teaching. He also expressed the hope that every student in our school could learn from Confucius, such as too absorbed to eat, too elated to worry, to have an insatiable desire to learn, to emulate those better than oneself, to have high aims and finally repay the motherland.
Hu Jike, in his speech, expressed his wishes that students of the High School Attached to Northwest Normal University could follow Confucius`s belief that being diligent and making a lot of friends should be the happiest thing in one`s life. In addition, he also hoped that every student could learn something and the school motto, “Be diligent, reflected, honest and bravery” could be carried forward so that every student could make their own contributions to society.
In the end, all teachers and students attending the ceremony read some parts of Analects and unveiling ceremony finished.
