On the afternoon of April 11, 2019, LUMINA COELI, a famous girl teenager choir in France, came to the High School Attached to NWNU for an exchange visit. A brief welcome ceremony was held in the school.
Principal Jia gave a welcome speech to the guests, saying that LUMINA COELI’s visit to the High School Attached to NWNU and the art exchange activities with the “Tian He” choir of the school can not only promote the development of the two sides in the music field, but also make the East and West Culture collides, creating a flower of harmony and adding color to the interaction between the two countries. Hugo Gutierrez, the artistic director of LUMINA COELI, introduced the origins and development of LUMINA COELI to the teachers and students in the school and expressed his gratitude for the warm reception.
After the welcome ceremony, the two choirs gave wonderful performances respectively.
The chorus members presented a fine art feast to the audience with lovely and beautiful songs, which won the warm applause and unanimous praise from the audience.
On the evening of April 12th, LUMINA COELI performed at the Gansu Grand Theatre and a group of student choir fans from the high school watched the performance on the spot, which brought the exchange to a successful end with fruitful results achieved and friendship between the two countries enhanced.
LUMINA COELI，a famous French children choir，receives great reputation in Europe, which is composed of only girls at the age of 7 to 16 years old. With a long history and rigid rules in selection, it was set up in the ancient sacred art kingdom in France - Burgundy, Otto Saint-Lazar College and has undertaken the major celebrations and festivals of Autun. It is also regularly invited to participate in important national celebrations in France. The artistic director Hugo Gutierrez, who led the team this time, is an outstanding French organist, chorus and orchestra conductor.
