The Promotion Meeting of 100 Sister Schools Initiative for Chinese and Foreign Primary and Secondary Schools in Gansu Province Was Held in the High School Attached to NWNU

       In order to do a better job in international cooperation and exchange of primary and secondary schools in Gansu province and actively promote the “100 Sister School” Initiative for Chinese and foreign primary and secondary schools, the Gansu “100 Sister School” Initiative promotion meeting was held in the High School Attached to NWNU on July 17th , which was organized by the Education Department of Gansu Province, Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Gansu Province and Gansu Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (GPAFFC), so as to deepen and broaden the opening-up in primary and secondary schools of Gansu province.
      More than 80 people attended the meeting, including leaders, officials and principals from the relevant departments, offices and primary and secondary schools, like the Education Department of Gansu Province, Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Gansu Province, Gansu Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Gansu Provincial United Front Work Department, International Exchange Promotion Association of Non-governmental Organizations in Gansu Province, Gansu Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Gansu UNESCO Association, foreign affairs offices or education bureau in different cities or municipalities of Gansu province and member schools in Gansu province of “100 Sister School” Initiative.
      During the meeting, the Implement Scheme of “100 Sister School” Initiative for Primary and Secondary Schools (2020-2022) has been issued simultaneously by the Education Department of Gansu Province, Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Gansu Province and Gansu Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, which starts from strengthening the education power in Gansu province, promoting the internationalization of education and pushing forward the international exchange of teenagers, trying to achieve the aim of making the primary and secondary schools in Gansu province keep close contact with foreign schools, sharing high-quality education resources and broadening students’ international horizons as well as developing their innovative spirit, with the help of these platforms such as “sister province or state” and “cities for international exchanges” by various ways like overseas studies, exchange visits of teachers and students. It intends to realize the aim of forming 100 pairs of sister schools between the primary and secondary schools in Gansu province and schools in foreign countries within three years.
      Officials in charge of the relevant offices of GPAFFC and the Education Department of Gansu Province reported how the “100 Sister School” Initiative progresses at present on the meeting and the following tasks have been assigned. Besides, 10 schools, including the High School Attached to NWNU, was granted plaques as the first batch of project base schools because of their active involvement and significant effects in the “100 Sister School” Initiative since 2016.
