The afternoon of Sep. 19^th observed the grand opening of “Persistence Makes Your Wishes Come True” thematic education activity and commendation meeting of outstanding students from senior two International Class of the High School Attached to NWNU at the International Conference Center, with head teachers, all the students from Senior Two International Class and their parents attended. Leaders, including Sun Liang, Director of International Department, Wang Zhiqiang, Vice-director and Li Zhongxin, Vice-director of International Education Service Center, attended the meeting and presented the prizes to the outstanding students. 53 students from Senior Two International Class have won different categories of awards, including Excellent Learner Award, the Best Award in English, the Best Award in Comprehensive Science Courses, Outstanding Student Cadres Award, the Award of Progress in Leaning, Ethics Award, the Award of Sports Stars. As for the Anti-epidemic Works Exhibition with the theme of “You Are the Special One with Love, Hope and Warmth in April Days” open for teachers and students of International Department, the first, second and third prizes as well as the excellence prizes go to 30 students.

The teacher representative, parent representative and student representative delivered speeches respectively at the meeting. Starting from different aims of studying abroad in terms of students and parents, Zhu Bao, the Head Teacher of Class one, Senior Two, hoped that all the senior two students could make long-term goals and be persistent in achieving them by comparing two students he once taught.

On behalf of all the parents, the mother of Zhang Muyao from Cambridge Class, Senior Two also gave a speech, sharing her method in educating her child------ the power of “believing in”. She added that children should believe in themselves and be confident as well as in their parents, their teachers, their school while parents should also believe in teachers and the school. Only in this way can parents, children and teachers make joint efforts to create wonderful lives for children.

Li Mai, a student from Class One, Senior Two, shared his learning experience in the International Department of the High School Attached to NWNU, where he found what he’s really interested in. His attitudes towards learning have been changed and he has found his unique way to success. In the last part of his speech, he also encouraged his classmates to try to do what they are not good at and to pursue bravely what they like to do.

This event is a good summary of progress made by students from 2022 International Class in various aspects in the first year of their high school life, which also points the way for students’ development in the second year of their high school life. Opportunities are everywhere in this era, which can give everyone much more choices to be faced with. Then, what will you do? To follow your heart or drift with the current? To face the challenge or escape quickly? Every student has made their own right choice in their hearts after the event. Being persistent today can make your wishes come true tomorrow and it is believed that every choice made by each student won’t bring any regret to them even in the future.
