Accompany with sincere heart to fight against epidemic--2022 senior three lectures on psychological counseling

On the afternoon of March 21, 2022, Xing Jinrong, the teacher of mental health education of our school, organized a special lecture on psychological counseling for all the students of the 2022 grade department organized by the Student Affairs Office and Student Development Center of the High School Attached to the Northwest Normal University. The lecture aimed to make us try our best to fight against epidemic, help students relieve mental pressure and do more to ensure the further work to be done on the student’s psychological health care during the period of closed-loop management.
Early Spring in March, the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 broke the peace and quiet of Lanzhou, the capital city of Gansu province. Although the epidemic is menacing, the students of the High School Attached to Northwest Normal University united together to prevent themselves against the virus depending on their fearless courage and unremitting efforts. At the beginning of the lecture, Mrs. Xing led students to review the change of their learning since the outbreak of pandemic this year. She guided students to act on the school motto actively and keep the courage in their minds no matter where and when. In the face of uncertainties in study and life, all of us have to firmly maintain unchangeable mind to our work and rest, plans, goals and tasks. Combined with related psychological knowledge, Mrs. Xing taught students how to positively deal with the problems, relieve mental stress, and adjust their emotions. At the end of the lecture, through showing some beautiful pictures of school’s scenery, she instructed students to cherish the happy time here and to love the campus as well as their lives. Then, Mrs. Xing conveyed the best wishes from the students of grade one and grade two to them, and inspired the graduating students to keep going to obtain the greatest results in June!
This lecture helped students relieve the mental stresses from the closed-loop learning, epidemic prevention and other respects. Targeted the practical problems, it aimed to tackle the difficulties faced by students who are going to take part in the National College Entrance Examination, such as negativity, anxiety, procrastination and low learning efficiency during the COVID-19. With this, this lecture also laid firm mental foundation for students to calmly study under the pattern of epidemic prevention.
At the same time, our school has developed a plan for mental health counseling to safeguard the psychological line of defense for teachers and students, and build a peaceful, steady and harmony psychological health atmosphere in the daily teaching works. The mental health of students can be protected through psychological consultation, teacher’s investigation, specific lectures, family guidance and other ways.
