The High School Attached to NWNU Was Chosen Into the Project“Cooperation among One Thousand Schools ”Between China and USA

        The High School Attached to NWNU was chosen as one of the first member schools of the project “Cooperation among One Thousand Schools ” between China and USA. And representatives from our school attended the meeting with over one hundred other representatives from schools and educational administrative departments in northwestern and southwestern China in Chong Qing on Dec. 26, 2014.
 
        Themed “cooperation among one thousand schools, loving nature, green and healthy life ”, the meeting was declared open with the representative from the Department of the International Cooperation and Communication of the Ministry of Education delivering the opening speech. The background and goals of the project were introduced by the representative from China Education International Communication Association and “environmental policies of China and the United States and reflection of history and civilization”, “leading a green and healthy life” and “constructing a bright future through Sino-US cooperation ” were discussed at the meeting.
 
        Officially announced its launch by US Secretary of State John Kerry and Vice Premier Liu Yandong on Jul. 10, 2014, the project of “cooperation among one thousand schools” was achieved at the fifth round of High-Level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange. Proposed by first lady Peng Liyuan and Michelle Obama, the project aims to promote exchanges among middle and primary school students of the two countries and to appeal for a green and healthy life and environmental protection. As a key part of Sino-US People-to-People Exchange, the project aims at cultivating highly qualified talents with environmental awareness, cooperation capability and international perspectives and promoting mutual understanding among young people between China and United States. Member schools of the project are recommended by the twenty-eight provinces, cities and autonomous regions and are examined by the Ministry of Education, Communist Youth League and ACWF. The number of the first member schools is 454.
