Admission officials from University of Waterloo Organized Co-operative Program Enrollment Tests in Our School

On Dec. 2nd 2015, the admission officials from University of Waterloo visited our school to organize the tests of co-operative program. Since the Mathematics College of University of Waterloo signed the cooperation agreements with our school in 2014, last year has witnessed that our four students from the International Class were admitted by the University of Waterloo through the cooperation program. This year, there are totally 14 students from our school setting for the cooperation program tests. Our school is the only one that has been recognized as a cooperative high school in Gansu Province by University of Waterloo. The cooperative program of the University of Waterloo involves the Mathematics College of University of Waterloo and some top high schools in China, which aims at selecting outstanding and excellent high school graduates in China who would be admitted by the Mathematics College of University of Waterloo if some relevant requirements have been met through tests organized by University of Waterloo.
The University of Waterloo, established in 1957, is a famous comprehensive public university, located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. As the best university concerning its comprehensive reputation in Canada, it has been rated as the most innovative university for 22 consecutive years as well as recognized as the best comprehensive research university in Canada.
As the only mathematics institution in North America, the Mathematics College of University of Waterloo which our school has cooperated with is the largest education research center for mathematics and computer around the world. Its representative team has got the top five in the International Putnam Mathematics Contest for several times. Besides, it is the only Canadian university that has won the champion in the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest. Majors like mathematics and computer science rank 24th in the world while Statistics and Operational Research as well as College of Engineering are among the top 50 in the international ranking.
What’s more, the co-operative program first established by the University of Waterloo makes it possible for students to get working experience while learning at school, which is greatly followed by other universities all over the world.
