Managing Director of North East Asia for Cambridge International Examinations Visited our School

On May 9th 2016, Sir Ding Wei, Managing Director of North East Asia for Cambridge International Examinations and Madam Li Na, Senior Area Manager of China region visited our school for the last inspection on authorization of our school to be a Cambridge International school. During their visit, some relevant issues had also been dealt with, such as the bringing-in of Cambridge international courses and the establishment of A-level examination center. Our principal Jia Jinyuan, vice-principal Jing Xiaomin, director of International Department Sun Liang and Zhang Zhitian, director of International Education Service Center and executive deputy director of International Department accompanied the visitors and participated in the discussion.
Visitors made an inspection tour around our campus, including our teaching buildings, labs, stadiums and the International Department, learning about some information related to our school-running achievements and the construction of campus culture. Our vice-principal Jing Xiaomin made a detailed introduction to the international education of our school, such as scale, conception, faculty and achieved results. They also entered the classroom of “Cambridge International Experimental Class ” in the first year and exchanged ideas with the teachers and students. After the touring, they spoke highly of what we had achieved in the process of developing international education as a school located in the western interior.
On the meeting, both sides communicated deeply with each others on issues like the advantages of CIE curriculum system and the implementation of international courses in the northwest region of China. Besides, Mr. Ding and Madam Li put forward many valuable suggestions about how to implement the CIE curriculum system in our school. They were believing that our school has been able to do a well job in carrying out the CIE system and intended to provide support in an all-round way for our school to set up the excellent “Cambridge International Experimental Class”, letting it be a good example of carrying out Cambridge international courses in Gansu province as well as a base for cultivating outstanding international personnel. Managing Director Ding Wei hoped that our school could make full use of our own characteristics and teaching advantages by integrating resources, diversifying development and highlighting features so as to make our school become a demonstration school for Cambridge international education among public-funded high schools in the northwestern area.
Much more details had also been discussed on the meeting by the two parties, including teaching materials, teachers’ training, the application for universities and so forth.
