From February 7th, 2017 to 21st, 2017, under the guidance of CheYuhe and Mr. Yu,24 students who will graduate in 2018 and in 2019 went to Eastern American and participated in a 15-day Learning Camp for Elite Students in America’s Top Universities.

During the period of this study tour, students visited three major cities in eastern American: New York, Washington, D.C. and Boston. They visited famous historic sites such as the Statue of Liberty, Lincoln Memorial and Freedom Trail, the world prominent universities like Princeton University, Yale University, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Columbia University and United States Military Academy, as well as the landmark building, such as The Empire State Building, Freedom Tower, and theTimes Square and Fifth Avenue. They experienced by themselves the advanced technology and modernization, the developed educational concept and well equipped education facilities, learned the Sino-America cultural differences and its local culture and history, expanding their international perspective and improving the ability to accommodate different culture.

Furthermore, those students also had three-days training in Harvard University, including reading skill, Public Speaking, SAT writing and American history, and had lunch together with Harvard students in canteen. In this way, not only they had authentic experience of Harvard class and life, but also they appreciated the enhancement of Professors in Harvard University. Students marveled at how American education attaches importance to the capability of imagination and practice through visiting the Imagination Laboratory (i-Lab) in Harvard University and Fab Laboratory in Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Through this study tour, these 24 students not only gained knowledge, learned American history and culture, but also comprehended the significance of goals, responsibility, communication, gratitude as well as action; they also made more friends, improved their ability of independence and rule consciousness, which was an enhancement of self-cultivation.

Neither the study tour was a simple trip nor simple learning; it was a course of “reading a thousand books, traveling a thousand miles”. It is hoped that every student shall have a clear direction for the future, try to move ahead ambitiously and conscientiously. There may be difficulties in the way to success, however, they shall stick to their dreams and forge ahead with determination and wisdom. Eventually, fruitful achievements are waiting for them.
