2015 New Year Concert Performed by Students Was Successfully Held in Our School

        In the evening of January 25th 2015, “2015 The High School Attached to NWNU New Year Concert ” was held in the Gansu Grand Theater. The performance was so brilliant that numbers of audience were attracted. Apart from many teachers and students from our school as well as their parents, several leaders were also invited to attend the concert, including Zhang Zhengfeng, Deputy Secretary-general of Gansu Provincial Government; Li Jing, Chief Inspector of Schools Gansu Provincial Department of Education; Ge Yinsheng, Vice Mayor of Lanzhou; Liu Zhongkui, President of Northwest Normal University; Ding Husheng, Vice-president of Northwest Normal University; Luo Zemin, Head of An Ning District, Lanzhou City; Nan Zhanjun, Deputy Director General of Lanzhou Education Bureau and leaders from other related units of Gansu Provincial Department of Education such as Non-governmental Education Division, Office of Personnel, Second Division of Basic Education, National Education Division, Sports Health and Art Education Division, International Exchange and Cooperate Centre, Higher Education Promotion Office and so forth.

        The “Flying Apsaras” Symphony Orchestra and the “Milky Way” Chorus as well as several teachers and students from the High School Attached to NWNU performed side by side over ten pieces of famous Chinese and foreign songs, like Hua Er (Flower Ballads) Suite, Golden Yellow Clouds Over the Night, Flower Drums of Fung Yang, giving the audience a music feast. The concert is also a good presentation of the fruits of art education in the High School Attached to NWNU, receiving high remarks from over 400 audience from all walks of life with the leaders both on the provincial and on the municipal levels included. It is thought that the performance is characterized by high standard, elegant style, professional arrangement, profound significance and distinctive features. According to some audience, the High School Attached to NWNU not only have the high-ranking enrollment rate but also the first-class mechanism of training students comprehensive quality.

        Over the years, while keeping the high level in education and teaching quality, our school pays attention to the moral, intellectual and academic development of students. At the same time, it also attaches great importance to developing and improving the students’ quality in arts and sports. The “Flying Apsaras” Symphony Orchestra and the “Milky Way” Chorus have been named as “Lanzhou Flying Apsaras Education Art Troupe” by the Education Bureau of Lanzhou City, which have participated in the “One Future” 2014 World Orchestra Festival in Vienna and the Third World Peace Chorus Festival, winning the second prize (the first prize vacant) and the peace prize respectively. In addition, various art groups, student societies or individuals from our school have also achieved outstanding results in different competitions or kinds of art performance on the national, provincial and municipal levels.
