The High School Attached to NWNU was Set as an Exam Center of AAPT Physics Bowl Contest

The PHYSICS BOWL is the most influential high school physics competition in the United States sponsored by AAPT (American Association of Physics Teachers) and its papers are designed and reviewed by the council consisting of physics professors in colleges and universities as well as high school physics teachers with rich teaching experience who have been registered in the Association. As the most influential physics competition for high school students in the United States, the contest is attended by more than 10,000 American high school students every year. Those who have obtained the highest scores in the PHYSICS BOWL will have the opportunity to be invited to attend the US National Physics Olympiad Summer Camp or even to be admitted by the US National Physics Team. Those with high scores in the contest are quite popular among the America’s top colleges or universities. In the past eight years, only one high school student got the full marks in the contest. The papers are divided into Group A for parts of excellent high school students in the first year and students in the second year and Group B for high school students in the second and third years. The papers used for the two group students have certain differences in the difficulty level and examine points, covering 40 multiple-choice questions with a limited time of 45 minutes.
The AAPT Physics Bowl Contest was introduced into China in September 2014 and the first contest in the domestic China will be held in the afternoon of April 11st, 2015. The High School Attached to NWNU has made positive efforts to achieve the right of being set as an exam center and finally made it. This is the only exam center of AAPT Physics Bowl contest around Gansu Province or even in the northwestern area of China, which provides convenience for those students who intend to attend the PHYSICS BOWL from our school and even other schools in Gansu Province.
