Our teachers Visited Beijing 101 Middle School for Attending 2015 National Guidance Teachers Forum on Well-known High School MUN

From 19th to 21st March, 2015, two teachers from our school, including Yuan Lianjun and Ma Haiyun, visited Beijing 101 Middle School to attend the 2015 National Guidance Teachers Forum on Well-Known High School MUN (Model United Nations) , which was co-hosted by the United Nations Association of China (UNA-China), Beijing Shengtao Education Development and Innovation Institute and the America-China International Education Society and was presented by Beijing 101 Middle School. The summit forum was also supported by the High School Principals Training Center of Ministry of Education, the High School Education Committee of the Chinese Society of Education, the Association of Former Diplomats of China (AFDC) and the Middle School Branch of China Education Association for International Exchange. Liu Changming, a Standing Committee member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairman of the High School Education Committee of the Chinese Society of Education, and Liu Zhixian, Vice-President and Director-General of UNA-China have attended the opening ceremony. Ji Peiding, former Deputy Foreign Minister and Chairman of the AFDC made an academic speech about Outlooks on 2015 International Situation. Tao Xiping also delivered an academic speech with the theme of Cross-Cultural Communication------ Enhancing Education for International Understanding, who is a member of National Education Advisory Committee, International Adviser of Chief Schools Inspector, Vice-Chairman of the World Federation of the United Nations Educational,Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Association and Director of Beijing Shengtao Education Development and Innovation Institute.
More than 100 famous high schools all over the country have participated in this forum and over 10 MUN guidance teachers shared their own schools’ MUN development experience as well as their own guiding experience in the establishment process of MUN during the meeting. Besides, the participates also reflected over the existing problems as for the current MUN activities and communications and discussions have been carried out on the future development of MUN in China, either. During the meeting, Guo Yuanli, a MUN guidance teacher from Beijing 101 Middle School, gave a lively and interesting open class to the participants. The Social Club of National Well-known High School MUN Guidance Teachers has been set up on the meeting and it has been agreed that the Chinese MUN activities for high school students could go further and more deeply by means of various schools’ continuous efforts, making the MUN as an excellent quality education platform so as to enhance the Chinese students’ international competitiveness.
Founded in 2009, the Bo Yuan MUN Association of the High School Attached to NWNU has made a gradual development over six years. Except taking part in some routine school activities, the association has participated in Peking University MUN, Harvard MUN and other activities outside school. In 2013, the association presented the 2013 Peking University National Model United Nations Conference for High School Students Northwest China Regional Conference and Gansu Model United Nations Conference. Two students went to the United Nations Headquarters in U.S.A. to participate in the China-America MUN for Outstanding High School Students which was organized by Beijing Shengtao Education Development and Innovation Institute. The United Nations Association of China (UNA-China), Beijing Shengtao Education Development and Innovation Institute, the America-China International Education Society and the organizing committee of China-America MUN Conference for Outstanding High School Students presented a silk banner for our school, which is a great honor and recognition of the association, even of our school.
