Principal Jia Jinyuan was Invited to Attend the Fifth Summit for Famous University Presidents and High School Principals

The Fifth Summit for Famous University Presidents and High School Principals, organized by the academic journal of China Higher Education，was held in Zhengding City, Hebei Province on August 18th ,2018, with more than 120 party secretaries or presidents of universities, high school principals and experts coming together to discuss the cultivation of innovative personnel. Jia Jinyuan, the principal of the High School Attached to NWNU, was invited to attend the summit and made a keynote speech on problems concerning innovative personnel cultivation in the current situation with the combination of the teaching practice of the high school.
With “the Connection Between Universities and High Schools & the Cultivation of Innovative Personnel” as the theme of the summit, the meeting was presided by Tang Jingli, Chief Editor of China Higher Education and was addressed by several guests at the opening ceremony, such as Zhang Daliang, Vice-president of China Association of Higher Education, Zhai Bo, Party Secretary and President of China Education Press Agency and Han Junlan, Deputy Director-General of the Education Department of Hebei province. Zhang Daliang said on the meeting that higher education and elementary education are required to be coordinated with each other in achieving the cultivation of innovative personnel. The summit has made great efforts in enhancing the connection and cooperation between universities and high schools, driving many substantial initiatives and thus producing many valuable research results. It has become an important platform for universities and high schools to discuss jointly how to select and cultivate innovative personnel.
In the roundtable panel discussion, delegates had a heated discussion on three topics, including “the connection between universities and high schools”, “the cultivation of innovative personnel” and “the culture construction in universities”. It has been announced on the meeting to establish the “collaboration-group for common development and connection between universities and high schools”. The Collaboration Charter for Common Development and Connection Between Universities and High Schools has been passed after a hot discussion, clarifying that the collaboration group is applied to set up the bridge for connecting high schools and universities, to discuss and address the problems related to cultivation of outstanding and innovative personnel and selection mechanism as well as to meet the needs in curriculum for high school students who have much learning capacity, so as to improve the reform of elementary education and the teaching quality in a further way.
