The High School Attached to NWNU was awarded the honorary title of “Model Collective in Promoting National Unity and Progress Around Gansu Province ” by the Gansu Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the Gansu Provincial Government.
On 24th January, the Gansu Provincial Conference on National Work and the Seventh Provincial Conference to award model institutions and individuals that excelled in promoting national unity and progress were held in Lanzhou. Our school was awarded the honorary title of “Model Collective in Promoting National Unity and Progress Around Gansu Province” by the Gansu Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the Gansu Provincial Government.
For a long time, our school always adhere to the theme of “promoting unity among all ethnic groups and achieving common development and prosperity” in terms of ethnic work and great efforts have been made to promote national unity and progress as well as the development of ethnic education. Besides, our school has striven to increase education support for ethnic minorities in Gansu province in recent years. Every year, our school will enroll 68 ethnic high school students from 21 minority autonomous counties all over the province. In recent five years, The ethnic students’ rate for passing the enrollment scores of first-tier universities has reached over 75% while the rate for the second tier has passed 95%. Our school has provided several supports, like sending teachers to ethnic areas to work as volunteer teachers while receiving teachers from ethnic areas for exchange and communication in our school, material support and many other methods, so as to improve the education quality in ethnic areas.
